Job Description

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.


TravelandLeisure.com is seeking a full-time Digital Associate Social Editor in our New York, NY office. This role will report to the Senior Audience Engagement Editor. The Digital Associate Social Editor is part of the editorial team and will assist with day-to-day social programming and social media content creation. The ideal candidate is a talented writer/editor who possess strong analytical and communication skills. You should have 2+ years of professional experience in social media programming, content creation, or developing social media/social platform specific strategies for a lifestyle or travel website.

The Associate Social Editor will ideate, write, edit, and manage social media content for a variety of daily and monthly initiatives, with an emphasis on supporting our social platforms. The ideal candidate will feel comfortable using analytics from a variety of sources to help guide social content creation, headline/tout writing, and platform specific new ideas. Candidate will also have excellent writing skills, experience creating digital content, and a passion for everything about the brand. They'll be skilled at crafting headlines, generating unique ideas, working collaboratively, and finding creative new ways to reach its audience via organic search.



RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Social media savvy-should be hyper-aware of what's trending across each social media platform; should know popular travel accounts
  • Solid understanding of digital content and how to effectively market content
  • Generate and create trending, relevant editorial content on a daily basis
  • Stay abreast of viral content, social conversations, and insights as to what works on each platform, prospect content, and identify social trends
  • Collaborate with editors, photo editor, and central teams
  • Track data, measure performance in real-time and assist in generating reports
  • Some community management
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Must be a quick learner
  • Savvy and knowledgeable about current social media trends and innovations
  • Professional, enthusiastic, and driven candidate with 2+ years of experience working in the field of social media
  • Excellent content curation, writing and communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects
  • Analytical and editorial sensibilities with the ability to proactively prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects simultaneously within time constraints and with strong attention to detail
  • Experience tracking traffic growth and reporting progress
  • Comfort collaborating with stakeholders from different departments
  • Relevant education in Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

    Education:

    College education-bachelor's degree or equivalent

    Experience: 2+ years digital experience

    Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Digital Content Development, Analytics tools such as Google Analytics, proficient in using CMS (drupal a plus)
